By the grace of Allah and with the duas of our elders, the Nikah of our son Arsalan with Inaya has been fixed in Lucknow. We request the pleasure of your company, with your whole family. Your tashreef-aawari will be baais-e-masarrat for us, so do come, and bless the two of them with your duas.

In Lucknow two people can stand at a door saying pehle aap until the train leaves without them. These two very nearly did.

    The last sheermal

    A cousin's wedding in Mahanagar. Two hands, one sheermal and a very polite standoff. Inaya got it. Arsalan says he let her.

  2. 2025

    The mangni

    Both families on one dastarkhwan, more kebabs than conversation, and a ring that fit on the first try.

  3. 2026

    Nikah

    Ijab-o-qubool before the Qazi sahab, and all of you there to say Aameen.

    Arsalan sits in yellow, the family arrives with ubtan, and then the dholak takes over.

    The baraat arrives at 7. The Qazi sahab reads the Nikah at 7:30, chhuare right after, and then dinner: Awadhi dum biryani and the kormas.

  • By air

    Chaudhary Charan Singh airport is about 40 minutes from Kaiserbagh. Send us your flight and someone will be there.

  • By train

    Charbagh station is 15 minutes from the venue. Tell us your train and a car will be waiting.

  • Where to stay

    Rooms are kept for guests from out of town, near Hazratganj. Mention it in your reply.

  • November in Lucknow

    Evenings are pleasant and nights drop to about 15°C. Bring a light shawl for the Walima.
